CHEAPER THAN THERAPY THURSDAY

Do you struggle with something in your life, but just continue to put up with something that bothers you? Maybe you’re unaware of how to solve your problem? Maybe you’re stubborn and just feel it’s easier to live with it than to figure out how to fix it? Want my advice? Well, it’s cheaper than Therapy Thursday, so I’m giving my advice whether you want it or not. I’m also giving advice whether you take it or not too. See, your brain will put this advice in little file folder and even though you might not use it today; it’ll be there when you’re ready. That’s the cool part about the brain; each one of us gets exactly what we need, when we need it.
So, what’s the problem I’ve been avoiding? Cold feet. And No, it’s not about my boyfriend, David… it’s about skiing. My feet have been freezing since I learned how to ski 3 years ago. I’ve tried wearing boots that are too big, with the idea that I can wear more socks and a heat pack in side of them. Well, that was a terrible idea and did not work! It felt awful and those little heaters need air to stay warm! I tried boot covers and that didn’t solve my problem. So, I decided to just put up with it. Live with cold feet. But I find myself sitting in the chalet, rubbing my feet until they warm up. My sweetheart, David has even put his gloves on my feet, with his hand warmers in them. He truly is a wonderfu guy! But I got tired of just putting up with cold feet. So, I purchased the correct fitting boots, and I just bought heated socks. Two pair. Of course I did! Because having two sets of batteries is my kinda thing. I figure I ski for a very long time each time I ski. Having two sets of batteries means I can ski to my van and pop a fresh set in when the first set wears out. I just got my heated socks in the mail yesterday. I will put them to the test on Friday. I’ll let you know how it goes.
But to be honest, my cold feet are just like any other problem we face in life. Lots of time, we try to live with the things that bring us discomfort. Is there something in your life that’s been suffering due to you avoiding your discomfort? Does your relationship suffer from something you don’t know how to fix? Does your job suffer because you’re not happy when you’re there? Maybe you’re like me and your feet freeze when you’re skiing too??? Well, here’s my advice. Take care of your discomfort no matter what part of life it affects. See where your discomfort comes from and dive into finding a remedy. If you have a supportive boyfriend like me, maybe he’ll stand by your side as you work on it? Maybe he’ll put his gloves on your feet and offer his assistance? I decided to take my cold feet into my own hands, not literally; figuratively. I am a firm believer in diving into discomfort, and trying to find a remedy. Because we all know that ignoring our problems will do nothing to cure them. It’s Cheaper Than Therapy Thursday, so you can take my advice or leave it. Just remember, your brain has heard it and has filed this away for when you are ready. I hope it’s sooner than later… Just remember, making changes can be scary, but finding what works is always worth it!

Great thoughts!
