What are you looking forward to?

Updated: May 18, 2022

This is one of my favorite questions to ask people. This question brings about many different answers. You can tell a lot about how someone is living their life, from this one question. Some people will tell me, with pure excitement - about an upcoming vacation, planting a garden, or a wedding they are planning. Some people will just shrug and say they're not looking forward to much. When a person answers with enthusiasm, this usually indicates that they are living full lives. It shows they are looking forward to what’s next. If you are struggling with the question, "What are you looking forward to?" how can you change that and live more fully?

First ask yourself, what would you do if money was no object, or you had 2 months off from work with pay? Let’s be honest, we probably don’t have endless amounts of money to spend, or 2 months off with pay; but that’s not the point. The point is: what is missing from your life? What would you do if there were no limitations? This question is not just to tease us. It opens your heart and mind to endless possibilities. Maybe you’d love to buy a pontoon boat and hit the lake on the weekends; or travel to Martha’s Vineyard; or drive through the Redwoods?

Did you know, no matter what you choose, any thought you have is absolutely possible? If you think about it, our life is made up of our thoughts. We have thought up every part of our life so far. We thought of the type of job we want, we think about what we want to eat, and we think about everything that we say each moment of each day. But I don’t think people realize how powerful our thoughts are! I think most of the time, people are on auto-pilot, as though life is happening TO them. Please know that life is waiting for YOU TO HAPPEN TO IT! I've learned one way to get there and that is to think from the end. Neville Goddard speaks about thinking from the end - think as though you already have what you are dreaming of. If it's a pontoon boat, visualize it. See it in your mind. See yourself in it. See it on the lake you'd like to be drifting on. Focus only the positives about your thought. Thinking as though you already have it, can and will allow it happen. Sound too easy? Try it. Give it some thought and see where it takes you. This one thought could change your life!
