Deep Thoughts

As I write today, I am influenced by Ira Progoff. He has increased my deep thoughts on what is missing from so many. Loving one's self. If we loved ourselves deeply, we would look less toward what's outside ourselves; to what is within. Self-love could increase our imaginations and allow more of us to become what our hearts desire.
True self-love
Requires nothing from the external
It is never ending
Though it will never be satiated
For the only thing
The self will not stop seeking
Is evolution
The self must expand
To keep self-love alive
To ever increase
Pride in one’s self
Satisfaction is shortly enjoyed
For a day, maybe a season,
As the greatest version of self
Thus far
But survives only a moment
As self-love takes pride
But unavoidably
Our awareness expands
And the old self must die
And a new self is born
And becomes the knowledge it gains
The wholesome cycle of self-love
Where complete love
Turns positively into temporary satisfaction
And evolves into awakened knowledge
As the old self must die
At least a thousand times
And become reborn, anew
Bringing temporary satiation within
Which will cease to remain permanent
Because inevitably
The page will turn
And the self cannot help
But expand again
And self-love grows
Once again
Always again
But how will we ever
Love thy self
When the love we seek
Comes not from within
